Crystal Returns with New Solo Single 'PWLT' and Glamorous Global-Producer Collaboration
May 27, 2026
Crystal will release her new single 'PWLT' today (the 26th) at 6:00 PM through global online music platforms, marking her return as a solo artist. The track is the second single to be included on Crystal's first solo album, and features a glamorous lineup of producers and session musicians active in the global music market, elevating the song's quality. The production team includes Pat Howard, a drummer and producer based in Los Angeles. Howard has produced for Latin pop artist May, who drew attention after being listed on former U.S. President Barack Obama's playlist. Also involved is Steve Lindsey, a producer who discovered Bruno Mars and has worked with Marvin Gaye, Celine Dion, and The Temptations. The session musicians are equally impressive: Kuo-Hung Tseng of Sunset Rollercoaster (Taiwan) on guitar, Oh Hyuk of Hyukoh on synthesizer, and Martín Perna, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and musician, contributing a flute session to enrich the track. Earlier, Crystal shared the making of this project in Episode 2 of the documentary series 'Charging Crystals.' The video captures recording sessions moving between Jeju's House of Refuse and Taiwan, including sessions with Kuo-Hung Tseng, work with singer-songwriter and producer Toro y Moi, and footage of choreography rehearsals, heightening fans' expectations. Meanwhile, Crystal has been active as an actress, recently starring as Jeon Yi-kyung in tvN's drama 'How to Become a Landlord in Korea,' and announcing her appearance in director Oe Takamashi's Cannes screenplay-winning Japanese-Korean co-production film '당신이 들린다' (Can You Hear Me), underscoring the breadth of her artistic activities.
