NCT 127 Returns With Seventh Studio Album ‘BLINGY’ and Five-Member Comeback Promotions
August 25, 2026
NCT 127 released their seventh studio album, BLINGY, on August 24th as part of the group’s 10th anniversary activities. The nine-track album reflects on NCT 127’s origins while presenting the bold and experimental sound that has defined the group throughout its career. The title track “BLINGY” combines distorted synthesizers, powerful drum beats, chanting vocals, and elements of rage and dubstep. Its lyrics deliver the message that the confidence and energy the members have been searching for already exist within them. Taeyong also participated in creating the song’s choreography, which the members described as one of their most demanding performances. The album also includes the pre-release track “Pinata,” “Legacy,” and the fan song “127 Million Miles.” The latter features all seven current members, including Doyoung and Jungwoo, who are serving in the military. The album cover combines a map of Seoul with NCT’s signature neo color, connecting the release to the group’s original goal of bringing Seoul-based K-pop to audiences around the world. NCT 127 is currently promoting the album with five members: Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, and Haechan. This does not mean that NCT 127 has permanently become a five-member group. Following Mark’s departure from NCT in April, SM Entertainment confirmed that NCT 127 would continue as a seven-member group consisting of Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Haechan. Doyoung and Jungwoo are temporarily absent from promotions because of their military service. During a press conference for the album, the members acknowledged the changes the group has experienced while emphasizing their intention to continue together. Taeyong said that the seven remaining members wanted to repay the memories and trust they had built with fans over the past decade. NCT 127 also recently renewed their contracts with SM Entertainment as a group. To celebrate the release, the five promoting members held the NCT 127 THE 7TH ALBUM [BLINGY] COMEBACK LIVE PARTY at KINTEX Exhibition Center 2 on August 25th. The event gave fans an opportunity to experience the group’s new album and comeback activities in person. NCT 127 will continue their anniversary year by beginning their fifth world tour, NEO CITY – THE REDLINE, at Seoul’s KSPO Dome from September 18th through September 20th.
