KATSEYE Earns First Billboard 200 No. 1 With 'WILD'

KATSEYE has earned their first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their third EP, 'WILD,' marking the biggest album-chart milestone of their career so far.

According to Billboard's latest chart preview, 'WILD' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated August 29. The EP earned 170,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the August 14–20 tracking period.

Of that total, 145,000 units came from traditional album sales, while streaming-equivalent album units accounted for 24,500 and track-equivalent album units contributed approximately 500. The strong sales figure demonstrates the size of the audience KATSEYE has built in the United States since their debut.

Released on August 14, 'WILD' follows the group's previous EP, 'Beautiful Chaos,' which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The new result gives KATSEYE their first chart-topper just two years after their 2024 debut.

KATSEYE was formed through 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' a global audition project created through the partnership between HYBE and Geffen Records. The group was developed for the international pop market while drawing on the performance training, visual storytelling, and fan-engagement systems commonly associated with K-pop.

The standard edition of 'WILD' contains five tracks: 'PINKY UP,' 'Animal,' 'Hootie Frutti,' 'Bel Air,' and 'That Way.' The project moves across energetic pop, emotionally driven balladry, and more experimental sounds while highlighting the members' different vocal colors and cultural backgrounds.

The EP also features contributions from prominent artists and producers, including Ed Sheeran, Omer Fedi, and Blake Slatkin. Its central themes explore instinct, freedom, and accepting different sides of one's identity.

Alongside its Billboard 200 result, 'WILD' became KATSEYE's highest-charting release in the United Kingdom, debuting at No. 2 on the Official Albums Chart. Together, the two results show the group's growing reach across two of the world's largest music markets.

KATSEYE's first Billboard 200 No. 1 represents a major step in their development from a newly launched global group into an established international pop act. It also gives the HYBE and Geffen Records partnership its clearest commercial milestone to date.
