FLARE U Make Their First Comeback With Second Mini Album ‘LOVEHOOD,’ Exploring Youth Growing Through Love
October 15, 2026
Duo FLARE U are opening a new chapter of youth shaped by love. Consisting of Choi Lip Woo and Kang Woo Jin, the duo will release their second mini album, ‘LOVEHOOD,’ on October 14 at 6 p.m. It marks their first comeback, roughly five months after their debut album, ‘YOUTH ERROR,’ arrived in May.
While their debut portrayed young people finding their own light despite awkwardness and imperfections, the new album follows a boy discovering the unfamiliar feeling of love. Its story embraces excitement, confusion and wistfulness as part of growing up. In interviews marking the release, the members explained that the songs leave room for many kinds of love, including feelings for romantic partners, family, friends and fans.
The title track, ‘Bloom,’ is a synth-pop song combining lyrical vocal melodies with a warm, retro sound. Layers of instrumentation and the duo’s harmonies convey shared memories and anticipation. The six-track album also includes ‘Hundred Nights,’ ‘False Alarm,’ ‘Madly in Love,’ ‘Window View’ and ‘Never Ever.’
The members also helped choose the title track. Speaking to SPOTV News, Kang Woo Jin said he found himself increasingly drawn to ‘Bloom’ as he spent time listening to the candidates. Choi Lip Woo highlighted its easy-listening appeal and the stirring feeling created as the sound builds in layers.
Their approach to preparing for a comeback has also become more nuanced. In an interview with Star News, Kang Woo Jin said he focused on detailed vocal expression during recording to show how he had grown since debut. He aimed to bring his own interpretation and emotions beyond following direction. Choi Lip Woo told TenAsia that, after emphasizing a bright, cute tone on their debut, he explored ways to express subtler emotions this time.
Onstage, partner choreography showcasing their chemistry is a key highlight. Choi Lip Woo told iMBC Entertainment that he and Kang Woo Jin developed various formations to evoke flowers, adding that the partner choreography in the title track’s bridge brings out both members’ charms. Their performances with dancers also preserve their individual personalities while building a style unique to FLARE U.
Their time together has strengthened both their teamwork and their appreciation for fans. The two told TenAsia that they rely on each other for help in unfamiliar situations and with Korean expressions. Choi Lip Woo said his gratitude toward fans grows with every promotion, while Kang Woo Jin said seeing fans wait in hot weather to support them reminded him never to take their love for granted.
Looking ahead, the duo hope to tell their own stories through music. Kang Woo Jin said he wants to create songs that reflect what both members want to say and make fans feel, ‘This is so FLARE U.’ As they discover new emotions within their youthful, refreshing style, they hope ‘LOVEHOOD’ gives listeners a chance to reflect on the love in their own lives.
