82MAJOR Earns First Music Show No. 1 With 'Like Fire' Three Years After Debut

Boy group 82MAJOR has claimed its first-ever music show trophy since debut with 'Like Fire.'

82MAJOR (Nam Seong-mo, Park Seok-jun, Yoon Ye-chan, Cho Seong-il, Hwang Seong-bin, and Kim Do-gyun) took first place with 'Like Fire,' the title track of their second single 'HEAT,' on the September 9 broadcast of MBC M and MBC every1's 'Show Champion.' The achievement was especially meaningful as it marked the group's first music show win approximately three years after debut.

The moment held special significance for Nam Seong-mo. Having previously served as an MC on 'Show Champion,' he said, "During my final broadcast as an MC, I said I would come back to receive a trophy, so it means a lot to be able to keep that promise. The Attitude [the group's fandom] made this dreamlike moment possible."

Park Seok-jun shared, "I thought about all the time we've spent running forward since the moment we debuted. I'm truly grateful to the fans who have supported us along the way." Yoon Ye-chan said, "It feels like this happened sooner than expected, so it's truly like a dream," and vowed to work even harder. Cho Seong-il said his entire body was trembling at the moment of the win and thanked the staff and fans. Hwang Seong-bin said it felt like a dream to receive the trophy himself and perform an encore, while Kim Do-gyun promised to show even better sides of the group, saying their first win was made possible by Attitude's love.

On the same day, 82MAJOR performed the b-side track 'How Are You (wyd?)' and 'Like Fire' back-to-back during their 'Show Champion' comeback stage. 'How Are You' was unveiled on television for the first time, delivering a bright and cool mood with its free-spirited street hip-hop style. For 'Like Fire,' the group showcased a dazzling performance featuring point choreography inspired by lighting, extinguishing, and tossing a match.

The group is also continuing to set personal bests in album and digital music sales. Released on September 1, 'HEAT' topped Hanteo Chart's daily physical album chart on its first day, with first-week sales exceeding 150,000 copies. 'Like Fire' ranked No. 64 on Melon's Hot 100 chart and reached No. 1 on Bugs' real-time chart for the first time since the group's debut. Overseas, it entered Spain's iTunes Top Songs chart at No. 3 and ranked highly on global K-pop charts in Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. It also charted on China's NetEase Cloud Music rising, trending, and new song charts.

82MAJOR will continue its comeback promotions. Beginning with Mnet's 'M Countdown' on September 10, the group will perform 'Like Fire' on KBS2's 'Music Bank' on September 11, MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on September 12, and SBS's 'Inkigayo' on September 13.
