Soyeon Confirms First Solo Comeback in Five Years

Soyeon, the leader and producer of i-dle, will return with a new solo album in early September. The upcoming release will be her first solo album in approximately five years and two months. Her previous solo mini album, ‘Windy’, was released in July 2021 and featured the title track ‘BEAM BEAM’. Since then, Soyeon has continued to shape i-dle’s musical identity as a songwriter, composer, and producer. Her credits include several of the group’s signature songs, such as ‘TOMBOY’, ‘Nxde’, ‘Queencard’, and ‘Fate’. Her songwriting career also reached another milestone in 2024 when she was promoted to full membership in the Korea Music Copyright Association. More recently, Soyeon began exploring a different creative direction under the producer name icebluerabbit. She participated in i-dle’s digital single ‘Mono (Feat. skaiwater)’, which was released in January, and later revealed the solo track ‘ICE BLUE RABBIT’ during ‘2026 i-dle WORLD TOUR [Syncopation]’. She has also expanded her collaborative work through projects with international artists, including American rapper Odetari and singer-songwriter Anderson .Paak. Ahead of her comeback, Soyeon performed a solo live set on EBS ‘Space Gonggam’ on August 18th. She is also scheduled to appear at ‘Waterbomb Sokcho 2026’ in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, on August 22nd. The album’s exact release date, title, and tracklist have not yet been announced. Further details are expected to be revealed ahead of Soyeon’s return in early September.
