ILLIT’s 'Magnetic' Surpasses 900 Million Spotify Streams
October 20, 2026
ILLIT’s debut song 'Magnetic' has surpassed 900 million streams on Spotify as the group prepares to release their fifth mini album, 'BREAK EVEN,' on October 26.
BELIFT LAB announced on October 20 that 'Magnetic' had accumulated 900,351,494 streams as of October 18. The agency described it as the fastest debut song by a K-pop group to reach the milestone on Spotify, approximately two years and seven months after its March 2024 release.
The title track from ILLIT’s debut mini album, 'SUPER REAL ME,' blends pluggnb and house, with lyrics comparing attraction to the pull of a magnet. Its finger-focused choreography became a recognizable part of dance challenges on social media.
Following its release, 'Magnetic' entered the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Top 100 and topped major South Korean music charts. The latest streaming total adds another milestone to the song’s continued international reach.
The track has also received Silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry. The award recognizes 200,000 UK units, calculated from eligible sales and streaming equivalents rather than streams alone.
In Japan, 'Magnetic' earned Triple Platinum certification in the Recording Industry Association of Japan’s August streaming certifications, announced in October, after exceeding 300 million cumulative streams. According to research by Universal Music, it reached that threshold faster than any previous song by an overseas female artist.
ILLIT will follow these achievements with 'BREAK EVEN' on October 26. Its title track, 'You’re Under Arrest,' is an electropop song featuring lively whistles and an upbeat rhythm.
The group performed the new song ahead of its release during 'ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥︎’ ENCORE in KOREA,' held at INSPIRE Arena in Incheon on October 17 and 18. The performances gave fans an early look at the upcoming title track while 'Magnetic' continued to add to its streaming total.
