Minzy to Open New Solo Chapter With Self-Produced Soulful R&B Release

Minzy is preparing to begin a new chapter in her solo career with a new song and music video scheduled for release on September 28th. The 2NE1 member officially began the comeback countdown on August 25th by launching a new website and revealing a redesigned logo and profile images. The title of the upcoming song and additional release details have not yet been announced. The new track is built around a soulful R&B sound and is intended to present Minzy’s current musical identity. Minzy participated throughout the creative process, including producing, writing lyrics, and composing, allowing her own experiences and artistic direction to shape the finished song. Minzy described the upcoming release as a personal project that reflects who she is as an artist today. She said fans would be able to experience a different side of her and recognize how her music has evolved. She also emphasized the importance of eventually presenting the song through a live performance. According to Minzy, the music will take on greater energy when its vocals and emotions are delivered onstage, allowing audiences to experience it in a more direct and personal way. Minzy debuted as a member of 2NE1 and became known for her powerful dancing, vocals, and commanding stage presence. She later expanded her work as a solo artist while becoming increasingly involved in writing, composing, and producing her own music. More recently, Minzy reunited with 2NE1 for the group’s 15th anniversary concert tour. The tour included 27 performances across 12 cities and concluded with encore concerts in Seoul in April 2026. Her upcoming solo release will now shift the focus back to her individual musical direction. Rather than being introduced as a full album, the September 28th release has currently been announced as a new song accompanied by a music video. Additional information is expected to be revealed through Minzy’s newly launched official channels.
