IU Unveils 'From This Star' Concept Photos as 'The Golden Hour' Returns to CGV

IU has unveiled concept photos for her new digital single, 'From This Star' (이 별로부터), ahead of its release on September 10th at 6 PM KST. At the same time, her concert film 'IU Concert: The Golden Hour' has returned to theaters in celebration of the 18th anniversary of her debut. The new concept photos present IU in a cinematic, science-fiction-inspired setting. Surrounded by a space-themed background and a blue-and-purple color palette, she appears as the central character in a mysterious journey beyond Earth. The digital single contains two title tracks, 'From This Star' and 'Dear My Crazy Soulmate.' IU wrote the lyrics for both songs. The release marks her first new music in approximately one year and offers an early glimpse of the musical direction leading into her next full-length album. Alongside the new music, 'IU Concert: The Golden Hour' reopened exclusively at CGV theaters nationwide on September 9th. A separate three-day IMAX screening event will take place from September 11th through 13th at CGV Apgujeong and CGV Yeongdeungpo Times Square. Tickets for the special IMAX screenings go on sale through the CGV website and app at 6 PM on September 9th. Attendees will also receive a specially produced IMAX poster featuring artwork created for the event. The film documents IU’s 2022 concert, 'The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun,' at Seoul Olympic Stadium. The performances made IU the first Korean female artist to hold a solo concert at the venue. Originally released in September 2023, the film attracted approximately 87,000 moviegoers and became the first Korean concert film to receive an IMAX screening. The new single and the theatrical return of 'The Golden Hour' bring two stages of IU’s career together: a landmark concert from her past and the beginning of her next musical chapter.
