PLAVE Unveils Racing Concept for ‘HYPERDRIVE’ Ahead of October 12 Comeback

Virtual group PLAVE has offered a racing-themed look at its upcoming fifth mini album, ‘HYPERDRIVE.’ The group released B-version concept photos and a visual sampler, highlighting the five members’ individual personalities and commanding presence on the track.
PLAVE shared the B-version concept photos through its official social media accounts on September 29 and 30. The group shots feature all five members in racing suits, posing on a track with a race car behind them. The setting, outfits and vehicle bring the new album’s concept into sharp focus, creating an intense atmosphere.
The individual photos highlight each member’s appeal within the same racing theme. Backgrounds incorporating the members’ signature colors, varied compositions and different poses with racing helmets showcase their distinct styles. Close-up shots offer a clearer look at their visuals, while individual expressions add another dimension to the group photos’ collective energy.
The B-version visual sampler followed at midnight on October 1 via PLAVE’s official social media. According to Star News and MK Sports, the previously released A-version video showed the members wearing racing jackets and standing at a photo line as they prepared to start. The B version moves them onto the track with race cars, capturing the moment before they speed ahead.
In the video, the members look into the camera with poses and expressions that reflect their personalities. Their styling and movements give the racing concept introduced in the photos a more dynamic feel. Moving from the A version’s photo line to the B version’s track setting continues the visual narrative surrounding the new album.
‘HYPERDRIVE’ arrives roughly six months after PLAVE’s fourth mini album, ‘Caligo Pt.2,’ which SPOTV News reported was released in April. The group has already heightened anticipation for its comeback by performing the new title track live ahead of the album’s release.
According to Star News and MK Sports, PLAVE gave a surprise preview of the title track, ‘Star Trace,’ during the encore at its first world tour, ‘KEEP IT MANIC,’ held at Incheon Munhak Stadium on September 12 and 13. The concept photos and video have continued to build interest following that early performance.
PLAVE’s fifth mini album, ‘HYPERDRIVE,’ will be released digitally on music platforms on October 12 at 6 p.m. KST. The physical album will follow on October 13.
