LUCY Rewrites the Growth Story of a Complete Lineup With KSPO DOME Debut on ISLAND
May 18, 2026
Band LUCY, six years after their debut, finally made their first KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Arena) stage appearance as a complete lineup, adding another page to their growth narrative on ISLAND. The final show of the ninth ISLAND concert, held after two days of performances, took place on the 17th, and it was especially meaningful as drummer Shin Kwang-il, who had completed his military service, joined the full lineup for the first time. The concert ran for about three hours and forty minutes, with 27 songs performed live to a lively audience response. Each show had a seating capacity of 12,500, and over the two days 25,000 seats were opened. Even amid this scale expansion, LUCY's youthful-band color and emotional storytelling shone as before. The energy began with the title track '발아' from their recently released second album 'Childish' and their debut song '개화', while violinist Shin Ye-chan delivered a signature melody weaving through the strong bass and drum rhythms to drive the show's flow. Jo Won-sang's bass anchored the lower registers, increasing the songs' density, and Cho Sang-yeop's clear yet sturdy vocals amplified the show's emotional reach. A standout moment came when drummer Shin Kwang-il delivered a bold on-stage moment, explaining: 'Today I briefly moved toward the front of the stage. The whole drum kit moved, so you may have been surprised. This is a set newly built for this show, and it costs the price of a car.' This staging complemented LUCY's signature 'youthful band' performance and was met with enthusiastic responses from the audience. Cho Sang-yeop later said, 'We’ve returned to KSPO DOME as a complete lineup. Thanks to all of you for waiting for Kwang-il, who completed his one year and six months of military service.' Shin Kwang-il also highlighted the tempo and on-site energy. In the second act, each member’s distinct color emerged more clearly, expanding LUCY's musical world into a deeper multi-layered landscape. Alongside Shin Ye-chan's violin solo, the 'Chameleon' game-concept staging added a visual treat. Fan sing-alongs and jumps during this section turned the venue into a festival, according to industry insiders. Shin Ye-chan performed solos featuring stories about a beloved pet in some songs, and Cho Sang-yeop wore a soccer-jersey styling to energize the atmosphere. Jo Won-sang took the stage in a suit for 'Porch Light', showcasing mature charm, and the violin-bass-drum interplay created a strong resonance with the audience. Notably, the 'Dokkaebi Dance' segment featured a collaboration with dancers, and Shin Ye-chan's goblin-mask performance became a highlight. Over the running time of more than three hours, LUCY kept the momentum with songs like '못난이', '못 죽는 기사와 비단 요람', '내버려', '낙화', and 'Flare'. In fan service, LUCY continued to blur the boundary between stage and audience, ending with the final credits stage that showcased the quartet's synergy. They described entering KSPO DOME as 'an auspicious moment' and a celebration of being a complete lineup, and fans pledged to treasure the memory for a long time. Meanwhile, LUCY announced they would carry ISLAND's energy on tour with Taipei on June 20 and Yokohama, Japan on July 24. The schedule was confirmed by official announcements made during the performance, and the atmosphere remained a vivid emotion that could only be felt live at the venue.
