AtHeart Revives Roo’Ra’s 1996 Hit With ‘3! 4!’
August 19, 2026
AtHeart has returned with “3! 4!,” the second single from their ongoing Time Travel Project. Released on August 19th at 6 p.m. KST, “3! 4!” reimagines Roo’Ra’s beloved 1996 hit for a new generation. The original song became widely known for its upbeat new jack swing sound and encouraging message, making it one of the era’s most recognizable Korean dance tracks. Original songwriter and composer Lee Hyun-do participated in the remake’s arrangement. The new version replaces the original’s prominent ukulele sound with warm electric piano and delicate guitar arpeggios, while preserving the bright energy that made the song memorable. Michi, Arin, Katelyn, Bome, Seohyeon, Aurora and Nahyun add their distinct vocal colors to the remake, giving the familiar melody a polished and youthful character that reflects AtHeart’s identity. The accompanying music video expands on the project’s nostalgic theme with Y2K-inspired visuals. The performance also connects the two generations behind the song, with choreographer Lia Kim and Roo’Ra member Chae Rina contributing to its presentation and choreography. “3! 4!” follows “Say It,” AtHeart’s June remake of The Cardigans’ “Lovefool.” Together, the releases form the Time Travel Project, which introduces music associated with 1996 through AtHeart’s contemporary sound and perspective. The project will continue in September with the global release of the multiform drama “3+4!” The story follows Nahyun as a mysterious pager transports her back to 1996 while she is filming a music video. Chae Rina, Lia Kim and actor Hyun Bong-sik are also set to appear in the production. With the single now available and the drama still to come, AtHeart is turning one classic song into a wider cross-generational project. It will be exciting to see how they continue connecting K-pop’s past with their own developing style.
