BTS will bring the Kaohsiung and Jakarta stops of their “ARIRANG” world tour to cinemas worldwide, giving fans unable to attend in person a chance to experience the shows on the big screen with cinema sound systems.
According to BIGHIT MUSIC, BTS announced the schedule for “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN KAOHSIUNG, JAKARTA: LIVE VIEWING” on the global fan platform Weverse on November 2. The screenings will feature the second Kaohsiung concert in Taiwan on November 21 and the third Jakarta concert in Indonesia on December 29.
The live viewings will take place in more than 80 countries and regions, with the Kaohsiung show screening on approximately 3,300 screens and the Jakarta show on around 2,800. In South Korea, fans can watch at the three major multiplex chains: CGV, Lotte Cinema and Megabox.
Depending on local time zones, concerts will either be broadcast live or shown as delayed screenings within one to two days of the performance, connecting the stadium shows with movie theaters around the world.
Tickets go on sale November 5, with South Korean bookings opening at 10 a.m. and global bookings at 10 p.m. that day.
BTS previously brought their Goyang, Busan, Tokyo, Buenos Aires and São Paulo concerts to cinemas through live viewings. BIGHIT MUSIC said those screenings received an enthusiastic response from music fans, adding that the upcoming events would “vividly convey the heat and energy of the stadium, allowing audiences to feel the emotion of the concert even outside the venue.”
The tour continues with 15 concerts across five cities, beginning in Kaohsiung on November 19 before heading to Bangkok, Thailand; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Singapore; and Jakarta, Indonesia. Kaohsiung shows are scheduled for November 19 and 21–22, followed by Bangkok on December 3 and 5–6, Kuala Lumpur on December 12–13, Singapore on December 17, 19–20 and 22, and Jakarta on December 26–27 and 29.
BTS wrapped up the South American leg with concerts at Morumbi Stadium in São Paulo, Brazil, on October 28 and 30–31, local time. All 14 shows across five South American cities sold out, drawing a total audience of 853,000. The group will continue meeting fans worldwide through the upcoming tour dates and cinema live viewings.
