July 27, 2026
Super Junior's sub-unit, Super Junior-83z (Leeteuk and Heechul), successfully wrapped up their first fan concert tour amidst sold-out shows. Leeteuk and Heechul held the opening performance of their first fan concert tour, '1983' (One-Nine-Eight-Three), for three days from July 24 to 26 at the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The '1983' tour originally scheduled two days of performances, but due to high demand, an additional show was added, resulting in all three sessions being completely sold out. The concerts were also live-streamed online via Beyond Live and Weverse, allowing fans worldwide to watch together.
This performance was planned with the concept of Super Junior-83z's genuine friendship narrative. The stage featured a variety of performances, including a virtual 'Bus No. 83' set, music broadcast-themed videos featuring Hearts2Hearts' Jiwoo and Eina as MCs, a reenactment of the legendary 'Incheon Battle,' and VCRs with Q&A sessions about each other. These rich arrangements bridged Leeteuk and Heechul's past and present, making fans even more excited for the future of the unit that brought them together.
Super Junior-83z opened the performance with their refreshing title track, 'Promise for You.' They delivered a variety of stages from their first mini-album, including 'Our Friendship is Stronger Than Love' with its 'Let's stay 83z forever' message and 'necklace performance,' 'SOLOVE,' 'On Saemi Ro,' Leeteuk's solo song 'Bad Name' with its restrained sexiness, and Heechul's solo song 'Lonely Man' showcasing his powerful vocals.
Additionally, the encore section heated up the venue with missions like posing for camera angles, catching up on short-form trends, and a rock version of Hearts2Hearts' 'RUDE!'. The idol power challenge section included 'Rokkugeo!!!', 'Super Duper', 'Tteuda Oppa', 'Miinina', 'Mr. Simple', 'Sexy, Free & Single', and 'Sorry, Sorry'. The emotional renditions of 'Butterfly Sleep' and 'Sincerity', along with close-up performances of 'Sarang♥' and 'Miracle', further energized the crowd.
Super Junior-83z shared, 'It feels strange to have a two-shot that was unimaginable 10 years ago. The most common thing we said while preparing for the fan concert was, 'Can we do it?' We are glad we finished safely. Since it was our first time coordinating just the two of us, there were difficulties, but it was a time where we could rely solely on each other, which made us focus more and added great meaning.' At the end of the performance, they expressed their sincerity to each other, saying, 'The tour has just begun, and we don't know what plans lie ahead, but let's keep going together. We are always grateful and love you.'
Super Junior-83z released their mini 1st album, 'Promise for You (Promise)', on July 13. As members of Super Junior, who first introduced the unit concept to the K-pop scene, the two born in 1983 proved why they are called the undefeated unit group. From album concept planning and songwriting to music video acting, they presented unique ideas throughout the entire process from unit formation to album production, establishing their unique unit style.
Super Junior-83z plans to expand their first fan concert tour '1983' to nine regions in Asia, starting from Seoul, including Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Kaohsiung, Singapore, and Taipei.
