Virtual idol group PLAVE is returning with its fifth mini album, ‘HYPERDRIVE.’ At midnight on the 17th, PLAVE unveiled a promotional schedule through its official social media channels, officially kicking off promotions for the new album.
The digital tracks from ‘HYPERDRIVE’ will be released on various online music platforms at 6 p.m. on October 12. The physical album is set for release the following day, October 13. On the 16th, PLAVE teased its comeback by revealing a coming-soon poster and pre-save link. The poster features skid marks left on asphalt, along with the album title and the group’s name.
The promotional schedule includes release dates for a range of content, including concept films, concept images, a visual sampler, the track list, an album preview, a highlight medley, and a music video teaser. The music video teaser is scheduled for release on October 9. The content set to be unveiled sequentially ahead of the album’s release is heightening anticipation for PLAVE’s new music and concept.
Pre-orders for the physical album also began at 11 a.m. on the 17th. ‘HYPERDRIVE’ will be released in three versions: ‘PLBBUU,’ ‘Towel,’ and ‘Racer.’ The distinct concepts and inclusions for each version can be seen in the pack shots released alongside the announcement.
This album marks PLAVE’s first new release in approximately six months, following the release of its fourth mini album, ‘Caligo Pt.2,’ in April. ‘Caligo Pt.2’ recorded 1.25 million copies in first-week sales, setting PLAVE’s personal best.
Alongside the release of its new album, PLAVE will continue its first world tour, ‘KEEP IT MANIC.’ After launching the Korean leg at Incheon Munhak Stadium on the 12th and 13th, PLAVE will head to Kanagawa, Japan, on September 26 and 27. The group will then meet global fans in Kaohsiung on October 3, Bangkok on October 10, Singapore on October 17, Taipei on October 23 and 24, Macau on October 31 and November 1, and Los Angeles on November 14.
At the Incheon concerts, an unreleased song was unexpectedly previewed during the encore, drawing an enthusiastic response. As interest continues to build around the unreleased track revealed ahead of its official release, fans are eagerly anticipating the music PLAVE will present through ‘HYPERDRIVE.’
