Evan Releases Solo Debut Mini Album 'DEATH OF ME'
September 10, 2026
Evan (EVAN), who transitioned to a solo artist after leaving the group ENHYPEN, has released his first mini album, 'DEATH OF ME', and held a media showcase. At the event held on the afternoon of the 7th at Kyung Hee University's Peace Hall in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, Evan shared his thoughts, saying, 'I've been waiting a lot for the release of my first mini album' and 'I hope it becomes an album that touches many people's hearts.'
Evan described the album as a 'mirror-like album.' He explained, 'It felt like I was facing myself.' He added, 'There is fear for the future, but it contains a honest story of wanting to move forward and achieve many things.' Evan took the lead in the entire production process, demonstrating his capabilities as a self-producing artist, and infused his own musical colors into all eight tracks.
The title track, 'Death of Me,' expresses Evan's strong will at a new starting point through a heavy pop R&B sound. Evan participated directly in writing and composing the lyrics, delivering a message of declaring 'no one can stop me' and moving forward without losing himself. Evan stated, 'I have reached musical limits many times,' and 'I put my strong will to not reach those limits into the song.'
After announcing his departure from ENHYPEN in March, Evan changed his stage name to Evan and made a fresh start by releasing the digital single 'Ride or Die' in June. He said, 'I made this decision after deep discussions during my time as a solo artist, but I deeply understand the fans' mixed feelings of sadness and concern.' He added, 'As Evan, I plan to show this part through my music and sincere actions, and I believe that repaying them through that is the greatest reward for me.'
Evan continued the showcase with his fandom, EVER, at the same venue at 7 PM that afternoon. He expressed, 'I want to give people hope through music,' and 'Giving strength to overcome difficult and tiring situations through music is my most important calling for me.' Evan set 'performing on more stages' as a major goal, planning to widely share his story and album through performances and ultimately deliver his message.
