August 5, 2026
Boy group TWS has proven its hot popularity in the Japanese market by reaching the top of the Oricon charts. According to the latest chart released by Oricon Japan on the 4th (dated August 3rd), TWS's second Japanese single 'SODA SODA' sold 161,253 copies on its release day, securing the number one spot on the 'Daily Single Ranking.' This achievement highlights how members Shin Yu, Do Hoon, Young Jae, Han Jin, Ji Hoon, and Kyung Min captured the hearts of Japanese fans with their refreshing K-pop charm.
The title track 'SODA SODA' entered the Japan Line Music Real-time 'Song Top 100' shortly after its release and ranked 12th on the 'K-Pop Top 100' (as of August 3rd). Additionally, the music video, set against a midsummer beach and lush forest backdrop, received praise for its youthful, cinematic feel. The hand choreography challenge, which intuitively captured the song's charm, also drew attention with participation from Japanese singer Kento Nakajima and girl group CUTIE STREET.
On the same day, TWS held a public event at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza to celebrate their new album release, meeting with approximately 10,000 local fans. The members showcased energetic performances, including 'SODA SODA,' their Japanese debut song 'Nice to see you again,' and the title track from their mini 3rd album, 'Isn't it cool to run according to your heart?'
TWS plans to continue its active activities in Japan. They will appear on Fuji TV's music program 'STAR' on the 6th, followed by appearances at the 'Mezamashi WANGAN Festival' on the 7th and the Japanese music festival 'Summer Sonic 2026' on the 14th and 16th. Their Asia tour '24/7:FOR:YOU' is also ongoing, with performances scheduled in Fukuoka from August 28-30, Hyogo from September 4-6, and Kanagawa from September 12-13.
