Park Jae-beom-Produced LongShot Debut Showcase Declares Dream of a Timeless Idol
January 14, 2026
LongShot’s debut EP SHOT CALLERS release showcase, held at Myeonghwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, turned into an idol-making story. Introducing the group as More Vision’s first idol, this boy group consists of OHYUL, RYUL, WOOJIN, and LOUIS. The team name LNGSHOT is said to mean ‘a decisive shot to flip the board despite slim odds,’ a description that circulated among on-site staff, and the album title SHOT CALLERS, personally chosen by Park Jae-beom, sounded like a declaration of the direction the members will take forward. The title track Moonwalkin expresses the emotions of youth—the dream and self-confidence—by likening them to a moonwalk. Included with the pre-released Saucin are five tracks in total, including Backseat, FaceTime, and Never Let Go. Park Jae-beom’s involvement as producer drew extra attention at the showcase.
OHYUL said, “Thanks to the CEO, we’ve had many opportunities and can train in a good environment. I won’t deny that. Someday I want to be recognized beyond the label ‘Park Jae-beom’s idol’ as LongShot.” Woojin added, “I’m proud of the group name Park Jae-beom set. We will grow into a team that suits the LongShot name.” Louis commented, “Meeting Park Jae-beom in person helped establish the group’s direction, and we are opening each other’s paths and moving forward together.” The members also shared pre-debut experiences during the showcase.
Park Jae-beom appeared in person to speak with reporters and shared how the group was born. He said, “I never created idols before, so I acted on my gut. At first I thought we could go in another direction, but as time passed and I met many friends and communicated, LongShot naturally formed.” He added, “As an 18-year veteran singer and entrepreneur, I believe collaboration with meaningful people is important. Now that K-pop is globally attracting attention, I decided to shape friends I enjoy listening to and respect into my own experience.”
His yesterday and today share the same goal. Park emphasized, “Even amid the regulations required of idols, I guide them by ensuring the surrounding adults help with parts where they have difficulty judging, and we communicate as humans. If you fear me, there will be no communication; I will maintain respect in a human-to-human relationship while fulfilling my responsibilities.” The members closed the day’s stage with the ambition to become timeless artists like their CEO. LongShot aims to win Rookie of the Year this year. RYUL said, “I hope LongShot becomes a brand representing the industry.” WOOJIN added, “We’re counting on being Park Jae-beom-made idols, and we also want to establish ourselves as timeless artists.” At the end of the showcase, Park Jae-beom reiterated, “This group was made with my bones and soul,” expressing affection for the members.
