TWS have made a strong start with their second single album, ‘TO US,’ combining strong first-day sales with a new personal best on Melon’s TOP100 during their comeback-day chart run.
According to Hanteo Chart data reported on November 3, ‘TO US’ sold 634,871 copies on its November 2 release day, topping the daily album chart. Title track ‘Call My Name’ entered Melon’s TOP100 at No. 75 at 7 p.m. on November 2 and climbed 61 places over five hours to reach No. 14 at midnight, as November 3 began. It was the group’s highest position during a comeback-day chart run.
B-sides ‘WE UP’ and ‘heavy’ also entered Melon’s TOP100, placing all three tracks from the single album on the chart. ‘Call My Name’ additionally reached No. 12 on Japan’s LINE MUSIC real-time Song Top 100 at midnight on November 3.
The single album features three tracks: ‘WE UP,’ which expresses ambitions for bigger stages; ‘Call My Name,’ a response to fans’ faith in the group; and ‘heavy,’ which offers comfort to those weighed down by everyday life. The title track explores the courage to take on challenges when someone believes in you. Youngjae, Shinyu and Dohoon contributed lyrics expressing their feelings toward their fandom, 42, and the stage.
In a pre-release interview with DongA.com, Jihoon said hearing fans call and cheer his name gave him the courage to commit fully to performances. Dohoon explained that he worked to express the intangible idea of faith without relying on clichés. Shinyu said the album captures the trials and concerns the members experienced during preparations in TWS’s own way, adding that he hopes young people of their generation will find courage in it.
The group focused on bringing both freshness and a sense of exhilaration to their performance. Kyungmin said they wanted to convey courage and stirring emotions through the music and choreography. The music video follows the six members taking on challenges and includes a group dance sequence at a city crosswalk. Hanjin, who filmed a scene climbing a building’s exterior, said he hoped fans would take a first step toward new challenges rather than let fear hold them back.
Touring also helped the group grow. Jihoon said he worked to manage his time carefully and practice systematically while album preparations overlapped with the tour. Youngjae reflected that support from the members, staff and fans made the tour a precious experience.
Communication continues to underpin their teamwork. Shinyu pointed to their “campfire” gatherings, where they have shared concerns and discussed their future since the debut lineup formed, as an important part of their bond. Hanjin emphasized that TWS are complete when all six members, each with a distinct personality, come together. Jihoon said his priorities for this promotion are showing growth and making fans happy, including creating performance videos they will want to watch again.
