82MAJOR Turns Up the Energy with Second Single Album ‘HEAT’

82MAJOR released their second single album ‘HEAT’ on September 1 at 6 p.m. KST. The release marks their return approximately four months after their fifth mini album ‘FEELM,’ which arrived on April 28 with the title track ‘Sign.’ ‘HEAT’ captures the moment when steadily rising emotions and energy finally erupt. Its title track, ‘Like Fire,’ continues the emotional narrative of ‘Sign,’ moving from the beginning of attraction to a point where those feelings can no longer be controlled. Intense beats, prominent synthesizers and the repeating “Like fire, fire” hook drive the song’s performance-focused sound. Member Yoon Ye-chan also participated in composing the track. The performance includes a signature move that depicts lighting a match, blowing it out and throwing it away. Park Seok-jun described ‘Like Fire’ as more intense, rough and mature than ‘Sign,’ while Nam Seong-mo highlighted the chorus hook as one of the song’s most memorable elements. The four-track release also includes ‘wyd?,’ ‘TROPHY (Spanish Ver.)’ and ‘Sign (Viann Remix).’ Nam Seong-mo, Park Seok-jun and Yoon Ye-chan participated in writing and composing ‘wyd?,’ with Yoon also contributing to its arrangement. Cho Seong-il took part in creating the song’s choreography. Meanwhile, the Spanish version of ‘TROPHY’ and VIANN’s remix of ‘Sign’ reinterpret two of the group’s previously released songs. Cho Seong-il has also drawn attention for completing symbolic runs of 6.6 kilometers on Memorial Day, 6.25 kilometers on June 25 and 8.15 kilometers on Liberation Day. He connected the runs to the meaning behind 82MAJOR’s name, which combines South Korea’s country code, 82, with the group’s ambition to become a major global act. 82MAJOR will continue the comeback with a release celebration live event at Gwanghwamun Cheonggye Plaza in Seoul on September 2 at 8 p.m. KST. The official event notice lists space for 300 audience members.
