MEOVV Returns with Bach-Sampling 'DDI RO RI,' Revealing the Wild Side of 'Lovable Predators'
June 1, 2026
MEOVV has released second EP 'BITE NOW,' featuring Bach-sampling title track 'DDI RO RI,' and revealed a more developed identity at its showcase.
The group held a media showcase at Cube Convention Center in Sangam, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 1st, announcing its first comeback in about eight months. Following digital single 'BURNING UP' last October, the release captures a period of growth that introduces a new MEOVV musical paradigm after first EP 'MY EYES OPEN VVIDE.'
'DDI RO RI' is a classic hip-hop song sampling Johann Sebastian Bach's 'Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.' Combining a grand organ melody with modern hip-hop beats, it creates intense contrast and catharsis while expressing instinctive wildness. The members said, 'At first we were surprised because it was a melody we sang while joking with childhood friends, but when it mixed with the cool beat, it felt new and exciting.'
The members' musical participation stands out. At executive producer TEDDY's suggestion, all five members directed one another's vocals to maximize their synergy, while NARIN, ELLA and GAWON contributed to the lyrics. ANNA also said she experienced growth as an artist while preparing three performances at once.
MEOVV aims to show its evolution from 'cat' to 'beast.' GAWON defined the album's identity as 'DRR—Different, Real, Raw,' previewing a more candid and powerful side. The members selected 'MEOVV-chelin,' combining MEOVV and Michelin, and 'lovable predators' as phrases that define them. SOOIN said, 'We normally show our lovable charm, but onstage we will reveal the contrasting appeal of becoming powerful predators.'
'BITE NOW' contains five tracks: 'DDI RO RI,' 'Hit 'Em,' 'In my hands,' 'Favorite Song' and 'Revenge,' demonstrating a broad spectrum across classical music, EDM and R&B. Calling it 'an album made with our lives on the line and fierce determination,' MEOVV promised a flawless performance that will command the stage.
