SOYEON Previews First Full Album on ‘EBS Space Gonggam’

SOYEON of i-dle previewed her first full-length solo album, ‘끝내주는 인생’—also presented in English as ‘What a Wonderful Life’—on the September 2nd episode of ‘EBS Space Gonggam.’ Ahead of the album’s official release, she performed all 11 tracks with a live band and spoke about the personal experiences behind the project. The album will be released on September 7th at 6 PM KST. The performance opened with the title track ‘퇴사할게여.’ Featuring narration by Kian84, the stage developed like a musical as SOYEON moved into the audience and performed among the crowd. She explained that the song gives her comfort and reflects a desire to protect the happiness and romance found in the present moment. The set continued with tracks including ‘Bankroll’ and ‘야채 싫어 송,’ which invited an enthusiastic response from the audience. Singer-songwriter Minsoo joined SOYEON for ‘Amigo,’ while ‘icebluerabbit’ introduced a new alter ego through a high-energy performance with rabbit-masked dancers. She also performed ‘STAR,’ ‘낭만 보내기,’ and other songs from the album. For ‘그냥 사랑하면 안 될까,’ SOYEON removed her long nail art so she could play the guitar live. Describing music as the foundation of her self-esteem, she reflected on the practice and songwriting that shaped her career. She said music remains something she is grateful for and that she wants to continue making it even when she is a grandmother. ‘끝내주는 인생’ is SOYEON’s first full-length solo album and her first solo release since the 2021 EP ‘Windy.’ Rather than presenting the title track’s resignation theme as an announcement about her agency, the performance connected it to her creative doubts, self-reflection, and determination to continue making music.
