hrtz.wav Returns With 'The Second Wave : MOMENTUM,' Featuring RIIZE's Sungchan

Kakao Entertainment’s five-member band hrtz.wav returned on September 9th with their second mini album, 'The Second Wave : MOMENTUM.' The group held a media showcase at SFACTORY in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, marking their first comeback roughly five months after their April debut. The six-track album includes 'Mind,' title track 'ALIVE,' 'Sunday Morning,' 'Play My Guitar,' 'Thinkin’ Bout You,' and 'First Daylight.' Built around electronic synth-pop, 'ALIVE' combines a groovy mid-tempo rhythm with retro synth sounds and lyrics about emotions growing clearer as two people are drawn closer together. RIIZE member Sungchan appears as a featured artist on 'ALIVE.' Vocalist Riaan explained that the group believed Sungchan’s voice would suit the track and reached out about the collaboration. Sungchan accepted, adding another distinctive vocal color to the song. All five members—Youn Young-jun, Riaan, Dane, Keiten, and Hagiwa—contributed to the album’s creative process through songwriting and composition. The members said they focused on developing both their sound and performance while presenting a more mature side of the band. Since debuting, hrtz.wav have gained live experience through music shows and festivals in Korea and abroad. Those performances have also strengthened their ambitions for larger international stages. Dane named headlining Lollapalooza as a goal, while Keiten mentioned Madison Square Garden and Hagiwa chose Japan’s Summer Sonic as dream venues for the future. With 'The Second Wave : MOMENTUM,' hrtz.wav are building on the youthful energy of their debut while continuing to search for a musical identity of their own.
