May 14, 2026
Two sides of youth converge into one light. On the boy group survival show BOYS2 PLANET, Choi Lip-woo and Kang Woo-jin, who proved their potential and charm, officially debuted as a duo named Flare You with the mini album YOUTH ERROR. The debut showcase, held on the afternoon of the 13th at Bluesquare OurWON Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, filled the venue with their refreshing energy, and the music was released at 18:00 the same day. A press showcase followed at the same time, and at 20:00 they held Debut News.
The team name Flare You was introduced as two sparkles meeting to form one light. YOUTH ERROR is an album that captures two youths with different errors; together, Choi Lip-woo and Kang Woo-jin complement each other and shine as one light on their journey. The six-track album includes the title track WAY 2 U, along with Hyper (Drum and Bass), 우니까 (Don’t Cry), MIRACLE, WOO-HOO, and Playground.
WAY 2 U is a high-energy hybrid pop track characterized by a brisk rhythm and a pluck-led feel. The release also features Hyper (with Drum & Bass energy), Woo-ika (Don’t Cry), MIRACLE, WOO-HOO, and Playground. The duo divided parts for each track to highlight their respective colors, and the performances were crafted around a narrative.
Debut reflections focused on their chemistry. Choi Lip-woo said he was excited to show a new side as a group after previously debuting as a solo artist, while Kang Woo-jin expressed happiness and gratitude for achieving a debut he had dreamed of. They described the duo’s strengths as: easy alignment of opinions, shorter hair-and-makeup times allowing more stage focus, and more parts for each member so their colors stand out more.
Their role models are AKMU. Kang Woo-jin noted that AKMU’s stages are always joyful and that their songs become their own stories, which aligns with their own aims. Choi Lip-woo also respects AKMU, saying their music provided comfort to him and that they aspire to be a source of that comfort for others. They also highlighted ‘not being perfect’ as a distinguishing feature of the duo; Lip-woo emphasized that not being perfect is part of their color, while Woo-jin added that they want to convey the message of two people coming together to form one light through their music.
Prior to debut activities, they said they hoped to be like a “Vitamin vending machine” team—energetic and ready to give fans a dose of energy when needed. Lip-woo explained that this expression means they want to be a presence that energizes whenever necessary, while Woo-jin stressed that the duo will continue to grow and deliver music that many can relate to.
They also sent a message of support from seniors. Lip-woo referenced his connection with Seung-hyup of N.Flying, and Woo-jin cited the radio experience with P1Harmony as a big help for their debut. They also expressed interest in future collaborations with TWICE, with Lip-woo, a TWICE fan, saying he would love to shoot a challenge with TWICE after debut and hopes to try a fan-challenge at a fan meeting.
A dual debut remains rare in K-pop; attention on the day focused not only on their chemistry but also on their fast communication and the diversity of their parts. Journalists and fans on site watch closely to see what musical leadership they will show beyond BOYS2 PLANET’s track record, guided by AKMU as a role model. The first page of Flare You’s story is now opening.
Official activities began today with the music release at 18:00. After the showcase, a fan event is planned, and expectations for rookie awards are rising for Flare You. Their refreshing music and warm messages are expected to offer fans a little daily comfort, living up to the “Vitamin vending machine” descriptor.
