i-dle’s YUQI Makes Solo Comeback with Second Mini Album ‘二十七 (27),’ Capturing the Emotions of Twenty-Seven

i-dle’s YUQI is building anticipation for her solo comeback with the release of her second mini album, ‘二十七 (27),’ which captures the emotions and everyday moments of being twenty-seven through music.

Cube Entertainment unveiled audio snippets and the first concept photos for YUQI’s new album through i-dle’s official social media channels. The audio snippets feature portions of all six tracks, including the title track ‘Stay,’ along with ‘快乐,’ ‘Chamomile Tea,’ ‘I Like You,’ ‘Feels Right,’ and ‘银河之舞,’ as well as selected lyrics. The blend of Chinese and English offers a glimpse into the diverse musical colors YUQI will showcase on the album.

The album title, ‘二十七 (27),’ was inspired by YUQI’s age. She personally translated the thoughts, emotions, and everyday moments she experienced at twenty-seven into music, participating in writing and composing all six tracks. Based on her own story, the album is expected to showcase a deeper musical identity as a solo artist.

The opening track, ‘快乐,’ meaning “happiness,” is a deeply personal confession about confronting the inner self she had hidden behind a facade of being fine. ‘I Like You’ delivers a message about loving yourself as you are, while ‘Feels Right’ encourages listeners to enjoy the present and choose their own path instead of searching for a single right answer. ‘Chamomile Tea,’ a comforting song dedicated to her fans, conveys her gratitude and warmth. ‘银河之舞’ uses imagery of galaxies, starlight, and comets to depict overcoming the fear of heading toward an unfamiliar world.

The title track, ‘Stay,’ is built on a band sound and sings of youthful moments shared with precious people. It carries a message of moving forward together in pursuit of the light despite an uncertain future, the walls of reality, and the rules imposed by the world.

In the released concept photos, YUQI trades intense styling for casual outfits and natural makeup. Her bright smile and relaxed poses capture the fresh and free-spirited atmosphere of being twenty-seven. The previously released intro film also offered a preview of the album’s emotions and story through its cinematic visuals.

YUQI is returning with a solo album approximately one year and one month after her previous release. To celebrate the album’s release, the character pop-up store ‘YUQI CHARACTER POP-UP [TODAY WITH GIGI]’ will be held at Platz2 in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, from September 30 through October 6. YUQI’s second mini album, ‘二十七 (27),’ will be released on October 8 across major music platforms.
