Park Jin-young, CCO of JYP Entertainment, along with nine TWICE members and eight Stray Kids members, have been selected as voting members of the US Recording Academy for the Grammy Awards. This selection is being hailed as a significant indicator of JYP's growing influence in the global music market.
On the 14th, JYP Entertainment announced that Park Jin-young, along with 18 artists from TWICE (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Tzuyu) and Stray Kids (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, I.N), have been chosen as voting members of the Recording Academy, which organizes the Grammy Awards. Additionally, CEO Jung Wook and Shin Hyun-gook, Chief Strategy Officer and CEO of JYP America, have become Professional Members of the Recording Academy.
Voting members are music creators active in the recording industry, such as artists, songwriters, producers, and engineers, who participate in the voting process for Grammy nominees and winners. Professional members are music business professionals who directly support music creators and can participate in the Recording Academy's music industry community, various programs, networks, and Grammy submission procedures.
Founded in 1957, the Recording Academy is a leading music organization in the US that has hosted the prestigious Grammy Awards since 1959. Each year, it invites music professionals from around the world to strengthen the diversity and expertise of the music community.
Previously, Park Jin-young, Jung Wook, and Shin Hyun-gook were named in the Multi-Sector category of the '2026 Billboard Power 100,' which selects influential figures in the global music industry. In March, they were also included in the '2026 Billboard Global Power Players,' which recognizes leaders in the global music market outside the US.
TWICE, who debuted in October 2015, continues to show strong activity. After recording 17 consecutive weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100 with their album 'Strategy,' they made history by becoming the first K-pop girl group to win an award at the 2026 American Music Awards. Furthermore, TWICE successfully concluded their world tour 'THIS IS FOR' with encore performances at the KSPO DOME in Seoul from the 10th to the 12th, marking the end of their largest-ever world tour with 81 shows across 44 regions.
Stray Kids made history last year by becoming the first artists globally to enter the US Billboard 200 with eight consecutive albums at number one. They are set to kick off their new world tour 'RUN IT' at the KSPO DOME starting on the 28th and will release their new album 'THIS & THAT' on August 7 at 1 PM, continuing their energetic schedule.
