YOUNG K Returns with Solo 2nd Album 'YOUNGEST' After 2 Years and 10 Months

YOUNG K, a member of the band DAY6, is making a comeback as a solo artist with his second full-length album, 'YOUNGEST', after a gap of approximately 2 years and 10 months. His agency, JYP Entertainment, announced that the new album will be officially released on July 27 at 6 PM via various music platforms. Two days before the comeback, on the 25th, he raised anticipation by premiering the music video teaser for the title track 'Shut The Door' through DAY6's official SNS channels.

The teaser video begins with YOUNG K busy preparing for filming. It showcases his diverse charm, from acting with a thoughtful expression to a free and happy smile on a green meadow, and finally running powerfully through an open door, stimulating curiosity about the full music video. The title track 'Shut The Door' is a song that writes out honest feelings like a diary, depicting moments of reassuring himself that he will be okay while keeping the door closed.

'YOUNGEST' consists of a total of 15 tracks touched by YOUNG K's hands. In addition to the title track, it includes 'Marionette', 'F world', 'Hey Honey', 'Cheer Song', 'SPIKE', 'Yonge St.', 'million reasons', '100 Ways We Could Break Up (with JINJOO of DNCE)', 'Drivin’ into Hell', 'whatever', 'Goodbye, Love', 'Heading Home', 'Anemone', and 'Coffee in the Studio'. A key feature is his meticulous work, having participated in writing and composing all tracks. This album is evaluated as the most 'YOUNG K' and 'Young Hyun' (his real name) work, collecting answers to questions he has asked himself so far.

The comeback fever will soon lead to a solo tour. The solo concert 'Young K Solo Tour < YOUNGEST >', held from August 14 to 16 at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, proved its hot interest by selling out all three performances in advance through pre-sales for official fanclub My Day 6th generation members on the 20th. Additionally, YOUNG K conducted busking live performances to penetrate the public's algorithm ahead of the official album release. After successfully concluding his first busking at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on the 23rd, he made a surprise appearance at the Sangsu NBA flagship store on the 26th, delivering excellent live performances of new album tracks and receiving cheers from the audience and passersby.
