2026년 6월 21일
Jung Seung-hwan and MONSTA X's Kihyun captivated the audience at the Seoul Park Music Festival with performances of unreleased new songs and solo debut tracks. Held on the afternoon of June 20 at the 88 Hosoosu Riverside Stage in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, the '2026 Seoul Park Music Festival' kicked off with a lineup featuring diverse charms and personalities, led by MONSTA X's main vocalist Kihyun, CNBLUE, Jung Seung-hwan, and Silica Gel.
Amidst a beautiful drizzle, Kihyun opened the day's performances with his solo debut single title track 'VOYAGER'. 'My name is Kihyun. I'm in the team MONSTA X. We are currently on a world tour. I actually just came back to Korea yesterday, so I'm a bit sleepy from jet lag, but let's ignore that and go,' he began. He followed up with performances of 'STARDUST', '(COMMA)', 'Bad Liar', 'Youth', and 'SOMEONE'S SOMEONE'. Kihyun painted the romantic 88 Hosoosu Riverside stage with his clear voice and powerful high notes.
He also teased his upcoming solo album. 'I've been alternating solo activities. I've already released two albums, and the third one is coming soon. I finished all the work before going on the world tour. Please wait a little longer,' he said, revealing a preview of 'Lazy Day' from the new album to build anticipation. 'I know there are people here who aren't MONBEBE (MONSTA X's official fandom name), but I guarantee you'll love it too. The only worry is that my singing might be too difficult for you. It's quite different in difficulty from 'VOYAGER' and 'Youth',' he expressed confidence.
He added special flair with a limited-edition stage debut at the festival, performing 'Let's Get Along, We' in a deep blue outfit. 'I brought this because I thought MONBEBE would like it,' he smiled. He also covered Vaundy's 'Tokyo Flash' and WJSN's Dayoung's 'number one rockstar', creating a varied performance.
Audience members braved the rain, wearing raincoats to watch the show. Despite the weather, many fans who came to Olympic Park to hear Kihyun live filled the seats and showered him with cheers. Touched, Kihyun said, 'Thank you, MONBEBE, for coming in such large numbers. I will work harder.' During the 'Youth' performance, he shouted 'I love MONBEBE' to the audience, adding to the emotion.
At the end of the performance, MONSTA X member Hyungwon made a surprise appearance from the audience, bringing joy. Hyungwon is a capable producer who has written for MONSTA X albums as well as Kihyun's solo songs 'Bad Liar' and 'Where Is This Love'. Even with the next day's performance ahead, he came to support Kihyun's solo stage, showcasing their strong bond and warm nature.
The 'Park Music' festival wrapped up its first day successfully. On the following day, June 21, it will feature a rich lineup including MONSTA X in full, 10CM, Kwon Jin-ah, 2NE1's Sandara Park, BTOB's Lee Changsub, Daybreak, Soran, Daemon's Ear, Kivitz, Hype Princess, Identity, Modisei, Heartwave, AxMxP, Hong Isak, Yoon Machi, and Togai. The diverse lineup aligns with Park Music's goal of being a 'picnic-style music festival in the city'. This year, it is open to all ages, expanding its meaning as a festival that friends, couples, and families can enjoy together.
