OWIS Debuts, Opening a New World for Virtual Girl Groups with the 'MUSEUM' Stage First Revealed

OWIS, a rising force signaling a new trend in the virtual idol market, has opened the door to music-show stages with its debut. The five-member group—세린, 하루, 썸머, 소이, 유니—forms the acronym for 'Only When I Sleep' and promotes a distinctive worldview in which they can be met only in dreams. The formation was designed to balance the required musicality and storytelling, setting a new standard for virtual idols, and debuted under the vision of 이해인, the CCO of 올마이애닉도츠. Even before their debut, rumors about a real-life 'body' behind the group circulated among fans, and they differentiated themselves from the start with a unique concept. The meaning behind the group name is that each member's dreams and wishes converge into one worldview, and through the '아르켈' worldview, they teased three-dimensional communication with fans on a stage built around a dream-world of the 27th century.

The debut album is titled MUSEUM. It spans eight tracks across diverse genres—pop, R&B, hip-hop—while maintaining a dreamy sensibility, a rarity for a rookie. The group’s artistic voice is strong from the start, with members contributing to lyrics and weaving their own linguistic touches into the songs; the title track's lyrics include Summer, and Soi contributed to the track 'airplane:143,' while Serin contributed to 'forNEVER.' Critics say each member’s color remains clearly visible even in easy-listening tunes.

The released music video evokes visuals reminiscent of an animated film, fueling fans’ anticipation for how the teased performances will be realized on stage. The debut title track, the stage for MUSEUM, is described as a mid-tempo piece with an addictive guitar riff lingering in listeners’ ears, demonstrating solid musical craftsmanship. Amid this momentum, OWIS announced the debut schedule. They will first perform the MUSEUM stage on M Countdown at 6:00 PM on the 26th. OWIS will also host debut-celebration events.
