The global hip-hop scene is set to turn the spotlight toward May. Rookie group H//PE Princess has confirmed their official debut on May 27. Their first mini album, titled '17.7', aims to clarify the group's identity and musical direction more clearly. The agency said the debut will be a turning point that elevates H//PE Princess's free-spirited energy and hip-hop sensibility to a new level.
H//PE Princess is a seven-member global hip-hop group comprised of Coco, YSY (Yoon Seo-Young), Yuju, Doi, Rino, Nico, and Sujin. The group was formed through the CJ ENM-led Korean-Japanese joint audition program Unpretty Rapstar: Hip Hop Princess and has been introduced as the first artist of Chapter I, a venture co-founded by CJ ENM and Hakuhodo. There are many reasons they drew attention even before debut: Amoeba Culture, home to Dynamic Duo, will co-manage, and they have signed a global deal with Warner Music Group. With such a solid backdrop, and anticipated domestic and international activity, interest is rising in their potential as a future global rookie. A representative said the team’s strengths—tight teamwork and each member’s individuality—are fully captured in the debut album.
Recently, ahead of the mini album release, they heated up the mood by releasing successive concept photos. After Concept Photo A with a school mood, Concept Photo B for the debut album was released, highlighting a deeper street-hip-hop color and further solidifying H//PE Princess's identity. In the released concept photos, the members display free-spirited hip-hop images in various styling and poses, and the group image emphasizes teamwork and strong energy. The mood shown in Concept Photo B is interpreted as underscoring the group's broad charm and bold, youthful energy.
In addition to domestic activities, they have been active on the global stage ahead of their debut. On the 18th, they were invited to perform at Japan's major stage Rakuten Girls Award 2026 Spring/Summer, and in May they are set to perform at KCON JAPAN 2026 at Makuhari Messe. These overseas activities are expected to serve as a stepping stone to establish their position in the global market around the release of '17.7'.
H//PE Princess's first mini album '17.7' will be released on May 27, and the album is said to focus on consolidating the group's distinctive hip-hop sensibility and confident team color. A representative said, the mini album was completed with the aim of building on the teamwork formed at debut and maximizing each member's individuality and synergy. Music industry insiders also view this album as a key milestone that will solidify the group's color.
H//PE Princess's debut is seen not only as the birth of a new artist but as the starting point for how a Korean-Japanese joint career will expand on the global stage. Through the debut we aim to leave a strong impression on global fans and carve our own path with free and confident hip-hop performances, the members have said, already sparking buzz among fans. Moving forward, with the release of '17.7', their activities are expected to accelerate, and all eyes will be on the team color and musical direction H//PE Princess will forge.
