Billlie Expands the Billiverse with First Full-Length Album, Completing a Dark Fantasy of Self-Awareness

Billlie marks a peak four years and six months into their debut with their first full-length album. The regular 1st album, The collective soul and unconscious: chapter two, released at 6:00 PM on the 6th, brings together members Siyoon, Sean, Tsuki, Moon Sua, Haram, Suhyun, and Haruna to elevate the work. The album signals the expansion of the Billiverse, wrapping up the overs a narrative built since their debut like a single book and signaling a new beginning. The title track ZAP represents a moment of striking impact, capturing the moment of returning to the self by cutting through gossip and external noise. The second title track WORK fuses a bass-house foundation with the rough textures of industrial hip-hop, creating a hybrid track, with Moon Sua contributing to the lyrics to convey the message: “I will accept even my flaws as part of me and move forward.”
The album comprises 12 tracks in total: seven new songs plus four remixes, and it includes a Korean version of the title track from the Japanese mini-album, DOMINO ~ butterfly effect. The 12 tracks capture a wide spectrum—from classic sampling to high-end tech house, modern Philly soul, and new jazz—painting Billlie’s ego as it remains steady amid the onslaught of talk and external noise.
Musical participation from the members is notable. Siyoon, Haram, and Moon Sua are credited on the lyrics of the included tracks, and Suhyun described the title track as “the kind of song Billlie does best.” Not every lyric proposal was adopted, and Sean even sent in lyrics that were not selected. This time, heightened member involvement makes Billlie’s color more distinct.
The music videos and album visuals leave a strong impression as well. In a desert-scape narrative, a being pursuing a dream writes their own dream, visually unfolding to form a more sophisticated and solid atmosphere. At the release showcase, Billlie described the performance of ZAP as “a hooky dance that’s easy to follow,” emphasizing the strong on-stage linkage. The WORK performance as the double title promises a different charm as well.
This regular album is regarded as a grand finale to the ‘Billiverse’ that Billlie has built. Fans have noted the steadier teamwork and a broader musical spectrum after the hiatus. Siyoon said, “We used the hiatus to build a stronger team and skills,” and Tsuki added, “It’s an honor to share a more diverse Billlie with fans. Look forward to a wider appeal.”
Along with the album release, Billlie plans a special busking at Mangwon Hangang Park Green Path Square on the 7th at 6:30 PM. Having revealed a self that isn’t swayed by external gaze through the first album, Billlie will continue exploring music and expanding performances, establishing their position as a more solid idol group. The 12-track dense lineup, the members’ earnest participation, and diverse genre experimentation are seen as guiding the next chapter of the Billiverse.
