TUIDE has officially entered the K-pop scene with their first EP, 'TUNE & PLAY,' and its title track, 'SUN KISS.'
The seven-member group held their debut showcase at YES24 LIVE HALL in Seoul on August 24. TUIDE is the first artist launched by ABD, a HYBE label established with a focus on developing girl groups.
TUIDE consists of Seah, Elena, Seoyeon, Jia, Seohee, Saki, and Yi Hani. The members come from Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan, giving the group a mix of cultural backgrounds and individual performance styles.
The group name is derived from the phrase 'Tune the Tide,' representing their goal of adjusting the flow and creating a new direction in K-pop. TUIDE describes their identity as vivid yet relaxed, with each member contributing a distinct personality that becomes stronger when presented as part of the full group.
Their title track, 'SUN KISS,' introduces a style the group calls 'soultronic.' The genre combines the warmth and emotional character of soul music with the polished production of electronic music. TUIDE said the sound was chosen because it allows the seven members' different vocal colors and performance strengths to exist within the same song.
The debut EP contains five tracks: 'SUN KISS,' 'ABD,' 'Echo,' 'Flip-Flop Girl,' and 'GRLS.' Together, the songs are intended to establish the group's musical identity while showing several sides of their sound from the beginning of their career.
Each member also brings a different strength to the team. Seah is presented as an energetic all-rounder, while Elena specializes in groove-focused performances. Seoyeon is known for her precise expressions, Jia for her intense gaze and playful charm, and Seohee for her distinctive vocal tone and clean dance lines. Saki and Yi Hani add strong dance skills and recognizable vocal colors to the group.
Seoyeon has also attracted attention as the younger sister of TWICE's Jihyo. However, the members emphasized their determination to establish TUIDE through their own music, performances, and chemistry as a seven-member team.
The group has set the goal of winning a rookie award during their debut year and making the name TUIDE memorable to a wider audience. With 'TUNE & PLAY,' they hope to become an act whose songs listeners want to add to their playlists and whose future releases feel worth anticipating.
