Ahead of BTS’s South American tour in October, the host cities are preparing to welcome large crowds. Local governments are discussing safety and city operations plans, while tourism authorities are promoting the concerts as major cultural and tourism events and announcing the group’s arrival.
In Bogotá, Colombia, the starting point of the South American tour, the official tourism website Visit Bogotá, operated by the Bogotá Tourism Institute, has introduced BTS’s concert as a major event and cultural occasion. The site described BTS as one of the groups representing 21st-century global pop through their music, large-scale performances and bond with ARMY around the world. It also highlighted the significance of BTS’s visit, saying it has made Bogotá one of the world’s major music stages in 2026.
In La Plata, Argentina, the city and provincial governments are working with the concert’s production company to prepare for the influx of fans. Local outlet El Día, citing estimates from the Municipality of La Plata, projected that more than 150,000 people would visit the city for the three scheduled concerts on October 21 and October 23–24. Fans are expected to arrive from across Argentina as well as from the United States, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay and other countries.
La Plata Mayor Julio Alak held a working meeting with the production company and officials from the security and urban-control departments of Buenos Aires Province and the Municipality of La Plata to discuss a comprehensive operations plan. Alak said, “We are preparing to welcome visitors in the best possible way so they can enjoy an event of global scale.” In July, La Plata’s city council unanimously approved a motion to designate BTS as “honorary guests.” The title is an official honor bestowed on distinguished visitors to the city and internationally recognized figures in the cultural and artistic fields.
In Lima, Peru, the K-pop cultural event “Road to 7: El Comienzo” was held ahead of BTS’s visit. The Municipality of Lima hosted the event on the 12th and 13th at the Magic Water Circuit, one of the city’s signature nighttime tourist attractions. Local reports said the program included various activities, such as K-pop dance covers and video screenings. Chile’s official tourism promotion website, Chile Travel, also listed BTS’s Santiago concert as a major event in its “Festivals and Events – Culture and Heritage” category. Chile Travel spotlighted how the global K-pop craze is arriving in Chile, saying Santiago will transform into a global K-pop hub alongside BTS’s return.
BTS is scheduled to perform 14 shows across five South American cities—Bogotá, Colombia, starting October 2, followed by Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil. In Colombia, Peru and Argentina, the group is reportedly set to perform as all seven members for the first time since their debut, drawing continued attention from local fans.
