JENNIE Reveals a More Intimate Side on 'Fallen Angel'

JENNIE is presenting a more intimate and restrained musical direction through her new Digital EP, 'Fallen Angel.' Released on August 28th, the three-track project contains the title track 'FALLEN ANGEL,' 'HEAVEN,' and 'Less than a Lover.' The EP moves away from the overwhelming beats and elaborate presentation often associated with JENNIE’s most powerful performances. In their place, she uses minimalist arrangements, dreamy rhythms, and a wider range of vocal textures to explore vulnerability, loneliness, and complicated relationships. The title track, 'FALLEN ANGEL,' places JENNIE’s delicate vocals over a lyrical guitar melody. Rather than relying on a dramatic instrumental buildup, the song creates tension through restraint and focuses on the feelings of someone searching for comfort while experiencing an emotional fall. 'HEAVEN' carries a heavier emotional tone. Rough, dreamlike guitar sounds support a story about a destructive relationship in which both people continue to hurt each other. Even as the emotions intensify, the track maintains a controlled delivery instead of turning toward aggressive electronic production. The project also includes 'Less than a Lover,' which explores the uncertain space between friendship and romance with a lighter, more summery sound. Together, the three songs form a compact emotional progression, moving from delicate attraction and uncertainty into loneliness and emotional conflict. JENNIE has previously explored relaxed, atmospheric sounds through songs such as 'Love Hangover' and 'Handlebars.' On 'Fallen Angel,' she develops that direction into a more focused project built around open space, understated production, and the expressive range of her voice. Rather than depending primarily on spectacle, 'Fallen Angel' places JENNIE’s storytelling and vocal character at the center. The EP adds a quieter and more vulnerable chapter to her solo career while continuing to expand the musical identity she has developed outside her group activities.
