TUIDE is bringing “Echo” to music shows in response to fans’ support. Following promotions for “SUN KISS,” the title track of their debut album and first mini album “TUNE & PLAY,” the group will showcase another side of the release with its B-side track.
TUIDE is scheduled to perform on Mnet’s “M Countdown” on October 8, KBS2’s “Music Bank” on October 9, MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on October 10, and SBS’s “Inkigayo” on October 11. The four-day run will give fans a chance to enjoy the music and choreography of “Echo.”
The follow-up promotions come after persistent requests from fans. TUIDE first unveiled the performance of “Echo” at “TUIDE EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW [PLAYGROUND]” before their official debut. Fans praised the stage and continued asking to see it on music shows, leading to this promotional run. OSEN described the performances as a special gift for fans who supported and showed love for “SUN KISS.”
“Echo” blends deep house and uptempo classic house to capture the feeling of gradually falling for someone. Its lyrics use sound to illustrate shifting emotions: a repeating “echo” represents feelings traveling only one way as two people miss each other’s signals, while multidimensional “stereo” sound expresses the hope that their feelings will connect.
Through “SUN KISS” promotions, various performances, and other content, TUIDE has showcased the musical identity of “TUNE & PLAY.” With vocals that bring together the seven members’ distinct personalities and performances combining ease with energy, the group will now broaden its stage repertoire through “Echo.” Fans can also look forward to seeing the performance first revealed before their debut return on music shows.
The group’s debut-era chart success has continued. According to OSEN and TenAsia, TUIDE topped Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart dated September 26, while “TUNE & PLAY” appeared on the World Albums chart for three consecutive weeks. OSEN also reported that “SUN KISS” held No. 1 on Apple Music’s “Top 100: South Korea” for 18 consecutive days, from September 14 to October 1, and that every track on the album entered major music charts.
AtStyle highlighted further early achievements. Billboard named TUIDE its K-Pop Rookie of the Month for September, and “TUNE & PLAY” sold more than 110,000 copies in its first week, placing it among the top 10 highest first-week sales totals for K-pop girl group debut albums.
TUIDE is a seven-member girl group introduced by HYBE label ABD that debuted in August with “TUNE & PLAY.” The members are Seohee, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Sea, and Lee Hanee. The group’s name comes from “Tune the tide,” meaning to bring the flow into harmony. The long-awaited “Echo” stages will give fans a fuller look at the seven members’ charms showcased on their debut album.
