UNIS will release a new digital single to build on the rising popularity of their remake single “Sky, Earth, Stars.” The group will release “Milky Way” through various online music platforms at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23.
“Milky Way” is UNIS’ first new song in about two weeks, following the release of their remake single “Sky, Earth, Stars” on Sept. 8. Alongside the announcement, UNIS unveiled concept photos that offered an early glimpse of the song’s mood and began preparations for their comeback. The photos’ mysterious atmosphere heightened anticipation for the group’s new music.
UNIS is currently gaining momentum with “Sky, Earth, Stars,” a remake of the song of the same name by the female duo Bibi. The track combines the original song’s bright, upbeat mood with UNIS’ lively charm. Several outlets described it as blending a Y2K mood, kitschy sensibility, and trendy K-pop sounds. The members also drew attention through music-show performances featuring their distinctive vocal colors, bubbly choreography, and expressive facial expressions and gestures that brought out the song’s atmosphere.
The song has also shown notable growth on music charts. “Sky, Earth, Stars” entered Melon’s daily chart at No. 951 before climbing to No. 465. It was also reported to have appeared on various global charts shortly after its release. Several outlets said UNIS is achieving a career high with the release, citing its chart rise and music-show promotions.
UNIS completed a 14-city tour of the Americas this year and has continued its overseas activities, including the release of an original Japanese song. After attracting widespread attention with their remake, the group is quickly unveiling new music, raising anticipation for the fresh color and energy they will show through “Milky Way.”
UNIS’ digital single “Milky Way” will be officially released at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23.
