NewJeans Kick Off Comeback with Pre-Production in Copenhagen
2026년 4월 28일
Pre-production to capture a new musical narrative is underway in Copenhagen, Denmark, boosting anticipation for NewJeans' return. On the 27th, the agency ADOR stated in an official release that the Copenhagen visit is part of pre-production for a new musical narrative, signaling comeback preparations. On-site, Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni were spotted walking the streets with staff and carrying filming equipment, fueling speculation about a possible resumption of activities in Copenhagen. It was also learned that an official recording studio booking under ADOR's name lists a schedule from the 13th to the 17th, prompting fans to connect it to the production of a new album. ADOR described the booking as part of pre-production to capture NewJeans' new musical narrative, and said the members' conditions and optimized schedules are being considered in preparations for activities. They emphasized they would announce future steps at the best possible time.
Minji's joining has not yet been confirmed, and for now the focus is on the three members' movements and scheduling adjustments. Also in focus are past disputes over NewJeans' exclusive contract. In October 2025, a court ruled in ADOR's favor in the exclusive contract validity case, and in November Haerin and Hyein, and in December Hanni returned to ADOR. Daniel was notified of contract termination, and ADOR filed a lawsuit against Daniel's family and former CEO Min Hee-jin for about 43.1 billion won. As the legal dispute fallout is navigated while preparing for a comeback, individual variables like each member's condition and schedule remain, making the timing of future official announcements even more crucial.
Fan anticipation is already high. Along with eyewitness reports from Copenhagen, the release of studio reservation records is being interpreted as a signal of the comeback. ADOR reiterated that 'the members are preparing activities according to their own conditions,' and added that the future direction will be delivered officially at the right time. Questions remain about what musical direction NewJeans will take and when Minji will join the team. However, Copenhagen's pre-production signaling upcoming new music is already being seen by fans as the start of a comeback countdown.
