Urban Zakapa Returns With Jo Hyun-ah-Produced Single Album ‘7’

Urban Zakapa has returned with the new single album ‘7,’ marking the group’s first release in nine months since the EP ‘STAY’ arrived last November. Released on August 11th at 6 PM, ‘7’ represents the seven people from Urban Zakapa and its company team who worked together to complete the project. The single album contains two songs: the title track ‘Blue Diamond’ and the B-side ‘Unboxing.’ The release combines elements of pop, R&B, lo-fi, and chill music with Urban Zakapa’s signature vocal harmonies. Rather than pursuing an overly dramatic sound, the group presents a relaxed and atmospheric record built around detailed vocals and smooth production. Jo Hyun-ah played a central creative role throughout the project. After developing the songs through her solo songwriting camp, she wrote and composed both tracks. She also participated in the arrangement, production, sound design, synthesizer programming, and digital editing, helping maintain a consistent musical direction across the release. The title track, ‘Blue Diamond,’ uses the rare gemstone as a metaphor for each person’s individual value. The song encourages listeners to step away from outside expectations and complicated thoughts, move freely, and continue at their own pace. The second track, ‘Unboxing,’ approaches memories as moments carefully packed into a box. It expresses the hope that meaningful emotions and experiences shared with loved ones can be preserved and revisited together in the future. Jo Hyun-ah described ‘7’ as a personally meaningful record documenting the journey from her songwriting camp to completing the music with her company team. She also expressed hope that listeners would discover their own “blue diamond” while moving through life at a pace that feels right for them.
