New girl group UNCHILD drew attention with a debut warm-up that breaks from the usual mold. The group staged an exhibition-style performance, 'We Are UNCHILD – UNSCHOOL,' on the 18th in Sangam-dong. Inside a quirky classroom set in the middle of a park, UNCHILD's six members Park Ye-eun, Hiki, Tina, Ako, Ibon, and Nah-eun appeared to respond only to each other, spending their own time seemingly detached from the world. Visually realizing their aim to cut off external communication and build a single world together, the performance delivered a unique message to the audience. After the show, they personally thanked the citizens and fans who visited the venue and spent time talking up close. Notably, an on-site 'Listening Zone' where visitors could preview the debut track 'We Are UNCHILD' drew attention. At the same time, street promotions using UNCHILD's symbol, a blue-green frog, went on. Beginning in Sangam and extending to Hongdae, Yeouido, and Seongsu, the promotion involved frogs holding placards reading 'Do you know UNCHILD?' weaving through the crowd to convey the message. The move aims to expand UNCHILD's identity starting from the prefix 'UN-' and to convey the group's distinctive energy through a freer approach, breaking away from fixed formats and methods. Fans and industry observers are looking forward to what the unconventional debut project will reveal. Meanwhile, UNCHILD's debut single 'We Are UNCHILD' is set to be released at 6 p.m. on the 21st across various online music platforms. The lineup is confirmed as Park Ye-eun, Hiki, Tina, Ako, Ibon, and Nah-eun. Nah-eun has been noted as a rising star in the dance world and is seen as a key role approaching the debut. As they move toward their official debut, UNCHILD emphasizes its ambition as 'rule breakers,' focusing on their originality and powerful performances that stand apart from the traditional K-pop industry norms.
