The final day of WONPIL SOLO CONCERT 'Unpiltered,' held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, showcased DAY6's WONPIL delivering a stage that highlighted his multifaceted growth alongside a raw, rugged charm. Before the show began, WONPIL said, “This is a concert that shows me as I am. Today you’ll see a lot of my new self.” Going beyond My Day’s expectations, he added with a joking self-deprecation, “What My Day knows isn’t everything. I’m a very rough person, and I’m not someone who always smiles or is always cute.” This concert marked his second solo show since March 2022’s first solo mini-album Pilmography, and it realized a stage sharing its name with the mini-album Unpiltered. According to his agency, all three performances sold out at the booking stage. The opening set began with the mini-album tracks ‘Toxic Love’ and ‘어른이 되어 버렸다’. WONPIL built up the band’s dance elements and delivered a dance performance, while the stage incorporated piano for a layered musical color. The piano lift rose above the stage to maximize spatial impact, and a large curtain backdrop created a dreamlike atmosphere that heightened audience immersion. As he described, the show went beyond simple performance, moving between dance, vocals, and piano, and it drew particular attention for performing every track from the new mini-album Unpiltered, which he wrote and composed. Across 25 stages, he presented a setlist spanning songs from the new album and tracks from Pilmography, with polished execution and improvised vocal ad-libs that clearly demonstrated his growth as a singer-songwriter. Notably, collaborations with dancers on stages for ‘Not a Million Songs’ and ‘Up All Night’ stood out, while the piano-centered sections conveyed delicate playing and emotional nuance. A moment that drew buzz among fans occurred during Dawon’s part: in the segment where Dawon’s voice from Even of Day’s song ‘Love, is this right?’ flows, WONPIL shouted, “Dawon, sing it,” and Dawon stood up, raised a cheering lightstick, and performed as if on stage, which streamed across the LED screens and heated the venue. On the second day, Young K attended; on the third day, Sungjin and Dawon visited to support WONPIL’s new path. The concert also drew attention for its barrier-free effort for audiences with hearing impairments. JYP Entertainment collaborated with the nonprofit HearCycle to introduce the OraCast audio-access system, enabling transmission to receivers without space limitations—a first for domestic entertainment companies. At the end, WONPIL expressed gratitude for working with his “family-like” members, saying, “Four years ago this concert was a sore spot, but this time I simply wanted to show happiness and joy. The sweat feels like a reward.” He also outlined future plans: continuing the 10th-anniversary tour with DAY6 members, attending ‘Beautiful Mint Life 2026’ at the end of May, and adding solo concerts linking Macau, Busan, and Kobe. This stage amplified the meaning of Unpiltered, a title that emphasizes being as one truly is. The rugged charm, the piano’s delicacy, and the dance performances offered fans a fresh sense of self and marked a record of growth after four years away.
