YG Entertainment has announced release dates for new music from BABYMONSTER and TREASURE, along with updates on debut preparations for a new boy group and girl group.
YG executive producer Yang Hyun-suk posted a message titled “FROM YG” on the official YG LIFE blog on October 14. Greeting fans for the first time in about five months, he explained that although he had been sharing updates through videos, a busy production schedule prompted him to write this time.
BABYMONSTER will release the digital single “DESERVE” on October 23, roughly four months after June’s “SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA.” According to MK Sports, the release is scheduled for 1 p.m. YG also unveiled a poster through its official social media accounts on October 14.
Yang described “DESERVE” as “a slow song, but one with more powerful energy than any song they have released so far.” He said it combines BABYMONSTER’s delicate vocals and explosive singing power to convey emotions at their peak, adding that he hopes it will deeply move fans. The group’s next album is expected early next year.
MK Sports reported that the “DESERVE” poster features a roughly torn-paper background and blurred typography. Its restrained black-and-white palette and vintage atmosphere offer a different mood from the earlier dreamlike teasers.
TREASURE will release the digital single “SHOCK” on November 2. Following their June mini album “NEW WAV,” which explored various hip-hop styles, the new track will also feature a powerful hip-hop sound.
Yang called “NEW WAV” the beginning of TREASURE’s “second chapter,” explaining that the album marked their biggest shift in musical direction. He asked fans to look forward to and support “SHOCK” and the group’s second-chapter activities continuing into 2027.
YG is also preparing a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group for debut. Yang described both as important artists who will help lead YG’s future alongside TREASURE and BABYMONSTER, saying the company is putting its utmost effort into their production.
Both groups plan to record several demos they have prepared by the end of this year. Their debut schedules are expected to be set once their title tracks are selected. No debut dates were announced in this update.
Yang promised more varied and welcome news through a “YG ANNOUNCEMENT” video at the end of the year. He closed by thanking fans worldwide for their trust in YG artists and their patience.
