BTS member Jimin has earned his first Platinum streaming certification as a solo artist in Japan. His song 'Who' surpassed 100 million cumulative eligible streams in the country and was included in the Recording Industry Association of Japan's July 2026 certifications. Under the RIAJ's current streaming criteria, a song receives Platinum certification after reaching 100 million streams. The streaming certification is separate from the association's Gold Disc program, which is based on cumulative net shipments. Jimin's first solo album, 'FACE,' previously earned Platinum Gold Disc certification after exceeding 250,000 shipments, while his second solo album, 'MUSE,' was certified Gold after exceeding 100,000. Released in July 2024 as the main track from 'MUSE,' 'Who' is a hip-hop and R&B-leaning song driven by an energetic bounce and prominent guitar sound. Its lyrics follow the search for an imagined person Jimin has not yet met, combining longing with uncertainty. The song debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated August 3, 2024, and remained on the chart for 33 weeks. It also topped both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts for two consecutive weeks. In the United Kingdom, 'Who' peaked at No. 4 on the Official Singles Chart and spent a total of 28 weeks in the Top 100. The milestone comes amid renewed group activities for BTS. Their fifth studio album, 'ARIRANG,' spent its first three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while its lead single 'SWIM' has been nominated for Song of the Year and Best K-pop at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. The ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on September 27.
