DAY6's Young K Returns with Solo 2nd Album 'YOUNGEST' After 10th Anniversary Tour Finale

DAY6 vocalist and bassist Young K is making his return with a solo studio album after about three years. On July 6 at midnight, Young K officially announced via DAY6's official account that his 2nd studio album, 'YOUNGEST', will be released on July 27 at 6 PM. This marks his third solo release, following his first solo mini album 'Eternal' in 2021 and his 1st studio album 'Letters with notes' in 2023. Holding a total of 219 copyrights registered with the Korea Music Copyright Association, Young K is set to fill the new album with self-composed songs showcasing his outstanding songwriting and composition skills. Since his previous works consisted of 7 and 11 well-made tracks respectively, fans are expecting Young K's musical world to expand significantly in this new album. Recently, through his personal YouTube channel 'GongKai', Young K shared his thoughts, saying, "While working on this album, I realized something. I really like this kind of music. I've finally found my taste." He also added, "The work I did this time was the most fun among all the music I've worked on over the past ten-plus years." Furthermore, he expressed his realization that "There are many different sides to Kang Young-hyun, but there is also a consistent color that runs through them." Meanwhile, Young K successfully concluded the Seoul finale of his 10th anniversary tour, 'The DECADE'. The 'The DECADE FINALE in SEOUL' event, held for three days from July 3 to 5 at KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Arena) in Songpa-gu, Seoul, brought to a successful close the tour which kicked off in Goyang in August last year, covering 27 shows across 16 domestic and international regions. As Young K, who is in his 12th year since debut, continues to hold onto the 'hot summer sunlight', attention is focused on how much dopamine he will deliver to MY DAY (DAY6's official fandom name) this summer. Active beyond his album activities, Young K is a regular cast member on tvN's 'Amazing Saturday' and recently served as a judge on ENA's 'The Scout'. Member Wonpil commented on Young K's new album, calling it a "masterpiece" and noting, "There's talk around that people are expecting a lot from this." Young K concluded with, "It's coming soon. There's no time to feel sad about the end of the 10th anniversary tour; I'll keep running. I will keep running, so please love me well."
