ILLIT Releases Japanese Single ‘Swingin’ Magic’… ‘BREAK EVEN’ Comeback Set for October 26

ILLIT is continuing its activities in Korea and overseas with the release of a new Japanese single followed by a new album.

At midnight on the 21st, ILLIT released its fourth Japanese digital single, ‘Swingin’ Magic,’ on global music platforms. The single includes both the original Japanese version and a Korean version for fans in both countries. Built on the rhythmic groove and polished sound of New Jack Swing, the song captures ILLIT’s bright, upbeat energy and the members’ rich harmonies. It portrays a magical moment that seems to move freely between dreams and reality.

Global hitmaker Kanata Okajima participated in writing and composing the song. Okajima previously worked with ILLIT on the title track of their second Japanese single, ‘I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA).’ The pair reunited musically for this new release, further enhancing the song’s quality.

‘Swingin’ Magic’ will serve as the opening theme for Season 2 of the TV anime ‘Magical Sisters Rurutoririri,’ which premieres in Japan on October 4. Following Season 1, ILLIT will once again perform the opening song for the series. The track is also scheduled to be included in the officially broadcast Korean version later on. Attention continues to grow around ILLIT’s expanding presence across films, dramas, variety shows, anime theme songs, major brand commercials, and other content through original Japanese music.

Following their Japanese activities, ILLIT has also confirmed their Korean comeback. The group will release their fifth mini album, ‘BREAK EVEN,’ on October 26. The album title was inspired by the economic term “break-even point.” It will tell the story of the members reaching a turning point in new relationships, alongside a message about no longer clinging to relationships that do not give back as much as they receive.

ILLIT will return with a new album approximately six months after releasing the title track ‘It’s Me’ from their fourth mini album in April. With consecutive activities planned for ‘It’s Me,’ the Japanese single ‘Swingin’ Magic,’ and ‘BREAK EVEN,’ anticipation is building for the music and concept ILLIT will unveil with their new album.
